What is VitalLink?
VitalLink is an innovative, internet based solution to social isolation. Used with your own touch screen or mouse operated computer, VitalLink gives any user access to state of the art technology designed to keep you connected to friends, family and the world; including: video and phone technology for "face to face" social interaction at the touch of a button - or in this case, at the touch of an icon on a computer screen.

VitalLink provides a social network by computer for those with NO computer literacy and supports incremental mastery of computer use, self satisfaction with achievement and a growing willingness to use assistive technology. VitalLink keeps families together whether on vacation or anywhere in the world they live. For facilities, it is a powerful differentiator and also a symbol of continued connectivity that helps overcome the strong reluctance to move to a new lifestyle and a new way of life.
What is our Mission?
Participation is a key element of successful aging. Unfortunately, for many older adults, increasing frailty, limited mobility and family relocation results in social isolation. The significant outcome of this problem is not just the isolation experienced by many older adults, but the profound consequence this isolation may have upon the aging experience - manifested by declines in both physical and cognitive well-being. Or mission is to provide everyone with a vital family-connected world in which they can age successfully regardless of limitations, and can experience the comfort and joy that technology can bring as it innovates and progresses.
What makes VitalLink Unique?
VitalLink was designed by a top team consisting of both gerontology and technology experts. The result is that every detail of VitalLink has been designed with the older adult in mind. It presents a solution to the current complexity of both the computer and the internet, enabling even the least sophisticated older adult to utilize the internet to remain socially connected - face to face connected with those central to their quality of life. Imagine, at the click of a mouse or the touch of an icon, the computer challenged, socially disenfranchised older user will be able to see and interact, real time, with friends, family and growing grandchildren around the globe.
How does VitalLink work?
VitalLink is software that is installed on the older adult’s computer that becomes the primary interface for the elder. Adult children, other family members, facility staff and community volunteers can remotely manage the VitalLink Web Console from any computer and perform all set-up and input tasks. They can even remotely take over the system to show the elder web-pages, research doctors, schedule appointments, or order products and services. All the older adult needs to know is how to push the power button and to be able to touch big high contrast "buttons" on the screen to make or receive calls.

Can I use VitalLink when I travel or am away from home?
Yes, you just need any computer, laptop or iPad with Internet connection and web browser.
What is the cost structure for VitalLink?
At present, VitalLink is free for individuals and their families. Take advantage of our current free service while we are doing our price testing and consumer focus group surveys. We request no payment or credit card information from you when you register. We will inform you if we plan to charge for our services, and give you ample time to opt out or to join our program. If you are a professional or facility, contact us directly as each and every one of our programs is tailor-made in both scope and cost for your needs.
Will I need a specialized computer?
No, any reasonably new PC with Windows will do the job as long as it has a microphone, speakers, web cam and Internet connection. But, for the best and simplest experience we do recommend touch-screen all-in-one Windows desktop PC.
How can I check up on the older adult to see if they are using VitalLink?
As a primary care giver for your older adults you have access to activity information in the VitalLink Management Console.
How do I introduce VitalLink to my older loved one?
Experience has taught us that introducing VitalLink with the story on how its use can enhance your loved one's ability to participate in family activities is the best way to engage them in the program.
What information will I need to get started with VitalLink?
You need to have a valid email address to register on our web site. Then, follow our easy to understand instructions and video tutorials to complete the setup.

VitalLink provides easy to use tutorials for the use of all of the programs and features that we offer. We also provide one-on-one marketing support, consumer oriented videos, and other collateral materials explaining the benefits of VitalLink to potential and existing members of your community or residence.

We also provide at least quarterly marketing and branding oriented webinars. VitalLink is an active participant and exhibitor at most major conferences dealing with aging, and holds special seminars and exclusive events at these conferences for participating businesses, facilities, residential communities, assisted living and CC RC clients.
